War in Iraq: The Conflict Within 1:32
The city of Hawijah sits astride the informal boundary between two age old adversaries. Two years ago the long persecuted Kurdish population of Northern Iraq and the Sunni Arab population of the region to the South began a long journey that may well define the future of a unified Iraq.
Members of the 25 Infantry Division were charged with the responsibility of moderating a fragile relationship. If successful US forces could claim credit for a formidable victory in the Global War on Terror. However, the real victory belongs to the people of Iraq in their fight to achieve and maintain freedom from tyranny and oppression.
