War in Iraq: Sleeping on the job 1:26
Nearly two years ago I accompanied members of the 3-7 Field Artillery Battalion on a random inspection of check point and outpost operations. On that particular day egregious and inadequate best described the state of affairs along Northern Iraq’s oil pipeline. Harsh counseling was a bit of an understatement when US Army instructors and advisors discover the Iraqi soldier’s dereliction. Thankfully this was only one bad day. Rest assured more followed, but in a changing Iraq they were the exception rather than the rule.
