Sammy Davis was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions in Cai Lay, South Vietnam in November of 1968. Badly injured and under the attack of enemy forces Sammy Davis was able to defend his position, regain control of his artillery piece, fire on the enemy, and effected the rescue of eleven men. His story however, is not only one of bravery and heroism, but of love.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Davis in person two years ago at the military museum in Vincennes, Indiana. The man is just as honorable and humble as he appears in this video. Eric Blakeman Rolling Thunder chapter 6 Evansville< Ind.
